Terms and Conditions

Rules for entry

These terms and conditions apply to the Get Set to Eat Fresh Design a Billboard Competition. The joint promoters are: (i) Aldi Stores limited, Aldi Stores, Holly Lane, Atherstone, Warwickshire CV9 2SQ; (ii) the British Olympic Association, 101 Cavendish St, London, W1W 6XH; (iii) and the British Paralympic Association, 101 Cavendish St, London, W1W 6XH (together, the "Promoters").

1. The competition is open to primary and secondary students aged 5–14 who are resident in England, Scotland or Wales and in school years 1–9 (England and Wales) and P1–7 and S1–2 (Scotland) on 20 June 2025. The competition is not open to students resident in Northern Ireland.

2. Students who are related to employees of the Promoters may enter the competition, but there must be no reference made to this anywhere within in the entry.

3. Entry to the competition is free. Access to the internet is required.

4. Entries must be submitted on behalf of a student or students from by a teacher, parent or carer registered to the Get Set to Eat Fresh programme. Entries should be submitted via email to info@getseteatfresh.co.uk or by post to: Design a Billboard Competition, The Education Company, Denne Court, Hengist Field, Oad Street, Sittingbourne ME9 8LT.  

5. The competition opens on 0900 30 April 2025 and ends at 1700 on 20 June 2025. Entries must be received via email or post prior to the close of the competition. No entries will be accepted after this date and time.

Competition Entries

6. All entries must be submitted with the Design a Billboard competition cover sheet completed by an adult contact (teacher, parent or carer) which can be found at the Get Set to Eat Fresh website: getseteatfresh.co.uk/resources/design-a-billboard 

7. There is no limit on the number of entries a teacher, parent or carer may submit, but only one entry can be submitted per student. 

8. Students must create individual entries for the competition. Team entries will not be accepted. 

9. Entries should be created by students using the entry template available on the Get Set to Eat Fresh website getseteatfresh.co.uk/resources/design-a-billboard (“Entry Template”). Entries must be hand drawn. Only hand drawn entries on a completed Entry Template will be accepted. The Entry Template can be submitted in a number of formats including PDF, scanned image file, or hard copy.

10. Receipt of entries will not be acknowledged.

11. Any entries submitted will not be returned. 

12. Feedback on entries will not be provided.

13. All teachers, parents or carers entering students for the competition must:

complete a signed cover sheet providing the school name, country, postcode and contact details of a teacher at the student’s’ school

  • ensure the first name, surname initials and age of any students they are entering into the competition are included on their completed Entry Template
  • ensure the teacher, parent or carer submitting entries is registered on Get Set to Eat Fresh at the time of submission
  • agree that any entries submitted by students can be included in publicity related to the competition and programme. The name, age or school details of the student will not be displayed without the school and parent/carer's approval.

14. Incomplete, illegible or corrupt entries, or those not in accordance with entry instructions, will not be accepted.

15. No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any postal problems or network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind, or where postage is not paid in full. Proof of entry will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

16. Entrants who do not give correct details or those who make an entry on someone else's behalf will be disqualified (except in the circumstances above i.e. it is fine for a teacher, parent or carer to submit the entry on behalf of a child, but correct contact details must be given, and the entry should be the child’s own work).

17. No entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by a computer will be accepted.

18. In all cases entrants' data will only be used by the Promoters for the purposes of administering this Promotion and its prize and for no other purpose (see Privacy Policy for use of data collected through use of the getseteatfresh.co.uk website). All entrant data will be deleted upon expiry of the Promotion.

19. The Promoters do not accept responsibility for names, addresses or email addresses spelt incorrectly by entrants.

21. Entries must not:

  • be violent, negative or/and discriminatory of any ethnicity, race, gender, religion, profession or age group, or be profane or obscene;
  • promote or be about the use of illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons, alcohol or other age-restricted products, or any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message;
  • be offensive or be about hate;
  • defame, misrepresent or contain negative remarks about the Promoters or their products or other people, products or companies;
  • contain commercial names or trademarks owned by any party other than the Promoters or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, or contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, email addresses or street addresses;
  • contain intellectual property owned by others (including brands, photographs, paintings and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media) For the avoidance of doubt, this includes any Olympic or Paralympic intellectual property, which is owned by the International Olympic / Paralympic Committee and which Team GB and Paralympics GB do not have the right to licence;
  • contain materials embodying photographs, footage or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead;
  • depict, or themselves be in, violation of any law.

22. Any inappropriate or offensive material may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

23. Entries will be reviewed and moderated for content before being judged, however such review does not relieve the entrant from responsibility for compliance with these Terms and Conditions. Any Entry that is found at any time, not in compliance with these Terms and Conditions or that otherwise contain prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by the Promoters, in their sole discretion, will be disqualified. The Promoters shall have sole and final determination as to which entries are eligible to take part in this Promotion and no correspondence will be entered into. 

Judging

24. A judging panel will select one first prize winner from each of England, Scotland and Wales from all eligible entries. The judges' decision is final.

25. Winners will be selected from all eligible entries received on the basis of the Judging Criteria set out in the competition introduction presentation which can be found at the Get Set to Eat Fresh website getseteatfresh.co.uk/resources/design-a-billboard. Feedback on entries will not be given.

Prizes and winner notification

26. The three winners of the Design a Billboard competition (one in each of England, Scotland and Wales) will each win the following prize:

  • Their winning design will be used on an Aldi Billboard in a location to be determined once the winners are selected
  • The winner’s school (or a community venue agreed by the winner and Promoters if the winner is home schooled) will receive £1,000 and a visit from one or more Team GB or ParalympicsGB athlete, such athlete to be selected by the Promoters in their sole discretion
  • The winner will receive £100 in Aldi vouchers and a Get Set to Eat Fresh goody bag. The Get Set to Eat Fresh goody bag will contain a signed piece of Team GB or ParalympicsGB kit (to be chosen by the Promoters in their sole discretion), a Get Set to Eat Fresh water bottle, apron, tea towel, notebook and pencil.

The six runners up will receive a Get Set to Eat Fresh goody bag and £30 Aldi Vouchers. 

27. The winners and their schools may be required to participate in a winner’s event to celebrate their win. This may include a visit to an Aldi store (store location to be determined by Aldi) together with a Team GB or ParalympicsGB athlete, who will also visit the school. Any printed and/or visual and/or audio-visual material created from such event and all intellectual property rights, including copyright, arising in such materials shall be the exclusive property of the Promoters. The Promoters shall be entitled to use such materials without limit in time, but always subject to applicable laws and in line with data protection legislation. The Promoters will provide information to the winning school including release forms for parents/carers which must be signed and returned granting permission for this filming. In the instance that a parent/carer of a child at the school who is not the winner does not wish their child to be filmed at the event, they must make this clear in the release form and return this to the Promoters in advance of the event so that the organisers can ensure this wish is adhered to by third party film crews on the day.

28. The prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable. However, in the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoters reserve the right to offer alternative prizes of equal value. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Promoters the prizes will only be awarded directly to the winners. Prizes cannot be sold or auctioned or otherwise transferred to a third party.

29. The contact teacher/adult of the winning students will be notified by email by 29 August 2025. Schools will be required to give permission on behalf of the winners' parents/carers for the winners' first name, age, school and hometown to be used for publicity purposes. The contact teacher must acknowledge the email and secure permission by 9 September 2025. If acknowledgment is not received by this date, or permission is not given, the promoter’s reserve the right to select new winners, and therefore new winning schools.

30. The overall winner’s entry may be redrawn to create a suitable image for design and printing.

31. The winners will be formally agreed by the end of week commencing 8 September 2025 and the names of the winners will be available on request from this date.

32. No cash or other prize alternatives are available in whole or in part.

General

33. By entering the Promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these Promotion terms and conditions and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Processors (We Are Futures & The Education Company) on behalf of the Data Controllers (The Promoters), for the purpose of the administration of this Promotion.  The Get Set to Eat Fresh website is also integrated with Spirit, a database of teaching establishments with The Education Company.

34. The Promoters accept no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered as a result of entering this competition or accepting the prize. Nothing shall exclude the liability of the Promoters for death or personal injury as a result of their negligence.

35. Entries must include students’ names on the Entry Template in order to enter them in the competition. This data will be used solely to administer the competition and will be destroyed in November 2025, following the winners claiming their prize.

36. Teachers, parents or carers are required to provide their contact details in order to enter the competition on behalf of their students or children. Teachers, parents and carers will be able to unsubscribe from receiving further information from Get Set to Eat Fresh at any time.

37. The Promoters may in their absolute discretion modify, amend, cancel or suspend these terms and conditions at any time if they deem necessary or if circumstances arise beyond their control.

38. The Promoters reserve the right in their absolute discretion to disqualify from this competition any entrant who they believe has not complied with these terms and conditions or acted in good faith.

39. All promotion entries and any accompanying material submitted to the Promoters or arising out of the entrant's involvement in the promotion will become the property of the Promoters on receipt or creation and will not be returned. By submitting your promotion entry and any accompanying material, you:

  • assign to the Promoters all your intellectual property rights in the submission with full title guarantee; and
  • waive all moral rights, in and to your promotion entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.

40. The Promoters' decisions are final in all matters relating to this promotion and no correspondence will be entered into.

41. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes arising from these terms and conditions, and any associated non-contractual disputes, are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
